Assistant Cook Manager (2 Positions)
TERM: 182-day full-time position aligned with the West Fargo Public Schools calendar
(Typical schedule will be Monday-Friday, 8 hours/day)
SUMMARY: Prepares and serves meals to students according to established methods and procedures while maintaining high standards of food preparation and service with emphasis on menu appeal and maximum nutritional value.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
* Prepare food items utilizing district approved standardized recipes
* Give strict attention to product quality, portion control, and minimization of waste
* Maintain accurate production records for each meal
* Maintain high standards of food safety and sanitation
* Clean work area using proper sanitation procedures and supplies
* Perform cashiering duties including the use of computer, handling money, and making change accurately
* Assist the cook manager with weekly inventory of freezers, coolers, and storerooms
* Maintain facilities by making regular inspections of the kitchen, identify and report problem areas to cook manager
* Assist with internal promotional programs for food service
* Attend and participate in monthly meetings, trainings and/or workshops as required
* Assume the responsibilities of the Cook Manager in their absence
* Display a positive and friendly attitude toward students and staff
* Promote a team environment
* Assist other food service employees in heavy lifting when needed
* Ability to adhere to the assigned work schedule by maintaining regular and punctual attendance
* Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
* High School diploma or GED
* Reliable and dependable attendance
* Excellent communication skills
* Prior experience with large quantity food preparation required
* Basic computer skills
* Prior experience in a school setting preferred
SALARY: $16.12 - $16.60/hour plus excellent benefits and paid time off
