Volunteer Program Coordinator
WTA impact is powered by nearly 5,000 annual volunteers. We are seeking a Volunteer Program Coordinator who is passionate about trails and volunteerism to support and engage this community as we continue advancing WTA's mission. The Volunteer Program Coordinator helps ensure a positive experience for WTA's volunteers by helping shape the trail maintenance volunteer program and providing administrative support. The successful candidate will be a detail-oriented team player who is motivated to provide excellent stewardship of our relationships and data. Primary responsibilities : Volunteer Coordination and Communication
● Serve as the process owner and main point of contact for the volunteer registration process; respond to inquiries via phone, email and other channels.
● Establish and maintain relationships with volunteers and program partners. Provide feedback on volunteer performance.
● Develop, coordinate and facilitate volunteer and staff trainings in partnership with Trail Maintenance program managers. Annually review and update training curriculum and materials.
● Manage group and corporate work party requests, collaborating with regional managers and
development team staff as needed to schedule events.
● Oversee annual backcountry trip launch; including communication plan development and day-of logistics.
● Contribute content to newsletters, website, social media and Washington Trails Magazine.
● Oversee annual Volunteer Appreciation events statewide (virtual and/or in-person) and associated accomplishment materials; chair and organize cross-programmatic planning committee.
● Oversee Crew Leader College training registration and participate on the event planning committee.
● Support Logistics Coordinator with procurement and distribution of volunteer incentives, such as hard hats, vests, and t-shirts.
● Manage office volunteers in administrative projects.
