Puget Sound Field Manager
WTA is seeking a self-motivated project manager who is committed to volunteer engagement to join its trail maintenance program. This position manages WTA’s volunteer trail maintenance work with local, state, and federal partners in the central Puget Sound region and collaborates with a statewide team to grow a high-quality, established volunteer program. The position’s primary responsibilities are to develop and oversee execution of trail projects, develop staff and volunteer crew leaders, while maintaining and growing land manager partnerships. The Puget Sound Field Manager is a full-time exempt position based in WTA’s downtown Seattle headquarters that reports to the Field Operations Senior Manager and works closely with the Trail Programs Director.
Required Job Skills and Experience:

● Demonstrated skills in train maintenance and construction.
● Ability to accept and integrate feedback graciously, and give effective feedback to team members.
● Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment and as a member of a dynamic team.
● 3+ years of program/project management experience or equivalent, preferably related to trail
maintenance, volunteer engagement, environmental restoration or education, or outdoor recreation.
● Excellent communication skills (written and interpersonal).
● Solid judgment and ability to remain calm and manage emergency situations.
● Demonstrated ability to organize and manage a variety of responsibilities, set priorities and meet deadlines with excellent attention to detail.
● Ability to work in an outdoor environment including hiking and backpacking over steep, uneven terrain
and participate in trail maintenance activities using heavy hand tools.
● Wilderness First Aid/CPR certification (or willingness to receive upon hire).
● Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle (WTA provides mileage reimbursement).
