Civil Rights and Title IX Case Manager
The University of North Carolina at Charlotte is seeking applications for a Civil Rights and Title IX Case Manager for the office of Civil Rights and Title IX with the department of Institutional Integrity. The Office of Civil Rights and Title IX is dedicated to promoting a safe and healthy campus environment through compliance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972, and the Campus Sexual Violence Elimination Act (Campus SaVE).
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in counseling, social work, or other relevant area and 4 years of related professional experience, OR a master’s degree in counseling, social work, or other relevant area and 2 years of related professional experience. Experience managing/assisting individuals in crisis. Experience with programming and education/training initiatives.
Essential Job Duties: Reporting to the Director, the Case Manager serves as a liaison between the Office of Civil Rights and Title IX and stakeholders including, but not limited to students, employees, Human Resources, Academic Affairs, Student Affairs, Police and Public Safety, and members of the public. The Case Manager is responsible for the intake, management, and where appropriate, assignment of all reports related to discrimination, harassment, and sexual misconduct. The Case Manager is responsible for the coordination of case-specific supportive measures, accommodations, and resource referrals. In addition to maintaining accurate and complete records of care coordination, the Case Manager must demonstrate the ability to work independently, confidentially, and sensitively. In coordination with the rest of the department’s case management team, the Case Manager will work to develop training and outreach within the sphere of civil rights and Title IX compliance to the university community. This position generally works regular business hours but occasionally requires the flexibility, ability, and willingness to work nights and weekends as necessary to respond quickly to reports made by students, staff, faculty, parents, and others.
