Director of Finance Description
Our non-profit client is looking for a Director of Finance to add to their team in Colville, WA. In this role you will direct the Fiscal Department in developing policies and procedures for fiscal management and contract compliance. You will manage annual financial reports and audits. If you have non-profit and/or government accounting experience and strong supervisory experience, you could be a great fit for this role.
Director of Finance Responsibilities
- Assist with budget preparation, negotiations, audits, accounting and documentation
- Plan and organize workloads and staff assignments
- Ensure work is performed in a timely and efficient manner
- Plan leadership direction; develop short and long-range plans
- Gather, interpret and prepare data for studies, reports and recommendations
- Coordinate programs with other departments and agencies
- Analyze and recommend improvements to existing operating systems
- Direct the selection, supervision, and evaluation of assigned staff
- Establish work rules, safety requirements and performance standards
- Oversee performance evaluations
- Train and motivate subordinates; initiate and implement disciplinary actions
- Consult on fiscal reviews of fiscal programs
- Review audited financial reports
- Design, develop, and maintain accounting controls
- Ensure adequate cash flow; recover all funds owed
- Review and approve significant journal entries, requisitions, payment vouchers, accounts payable, payroll, and equipment purchases
- Ensure adequacy of funds and contract compliance
- Provide information regarding the financial health of the company
- Prepare a monthly and annual financial report
- Develop and maintain systems and records that evaluate, control and document operations
- Establish and implement policies, procedures, internal controls and standards
Director of Finance Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred
- CPA a plus
- 4+ years accounting experience required
- 2+ years supervisory experience required
- Non-profit or governmental accounting experience required
- Residential apartment and school building property management a plus
- Must be tech savvy
- Background and credit check required
