Code Enforcement Officer
The Town of Haverhill is accepting applications for the full time position of Code Enforcement Officer.
Salary: $18.00 - $24.00 hourly with a full benefit package.

The position is responsible for enforcing compliance with all applicable Town Codes by investigating violations of Town Codes and Ordinances; issuing notices of violations; preparing cases to be presented to the Special Magistrate and monitoring fines and liens imposed. Work involves field inspections as well as interpreting technical legal provisions and administrative directives pertaining to code enforcement. This position involves applying superior customer service skills in the enforcement of Town Codes and property maintenance standards. Duties require the use of judgement and tact in explaining regulations to property owners, businesses, staff, attorneys and Special Magistrate. This position acts as the Code Enforcement Officer and Zoning Enforcement Officer. This position also serves as the Town's hurricane preparedness coordinator and liaison with Palm Beach County Emergency Operations. Attends other meetings and performs other duties as assigned. Work is performed under the general supervision of the Town Administrator. Applicants must possess a high school diploma or state-issued GED; valid Florida Driver's license and certification as a Level 1 Code Enforcement Officer by the Florida Association of Code Enforcement Officers. Two years Code Enforcement experience is preferred. Chosen candidates must submit to a background investigation including drug testing.
