Job Purpose:
Business Analyst leads the independent analysis, design, implementation, and modification of the most complex computer systems. Serves as the primary liaison and advocate between end users and relevant Information Technology teams at the College of Charleston.
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related area, and 2 years of progressive experience in computer system development, management of data processing and warehouses, business process re-engineering, and general business intelligence. Candidates with an equivalent combination of experience and/or education are encouraged to apply.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Passionate, creative, and dynamic leader with the energy and ability to establish effective working relationships across the organization. Proactive and solution-oriented individual with a heavy focus on providing quality functional analysis. Leads in the determination of the functional and technical feasibility of solutions, and requirements for the definition of system scope and objectives based on user defined needs. Serves as a lead subject matter expert associated with functional content, processes, and procedures. Performs highly complex business systems process analysis and design, finds opportunities for growth, analyzes needs, and recommend solutions which improves efficiency, accuracy, and provides cost savings. Simultaneously leads different teams through projects that are complex and diverse in nature. Additionally, devises strategies which drive change through stakeholder collaboration. An extensive knowledge of higher education business processes and applications is a plus. Ability to communicate effectively with various levels of users, including working with senior level staff on implementing strategic initiatives using technology. Sets standards for the College and champions the processes. Excellent ability to document processes and procedures, reflecting proposed changes to existing environment.
Additional Comments Regarding Position:
Some occasional travel for professional development, conferences and meetings may be required. Minimal after hours support possible.

Leads as Business Analyst on a variety of other projects involving information technology. Works with business units to assess existing systems and processes and proposes new initiatives. On project(s), works with both IT and end users to ensure existing systems/processes are understood and analyzed for potential innovations and efficiencies. Ensures effective and creative solution implementation with project team. Lead as Project Manager. Coordinate projects with other IT teams and campus personnel. Utilize IT project management methodologies, communications, and reporting through documentation of project, requirements, and anticipated benefits.
