Circulation Home Delivery Operations Manager
Sound Publishing, Inc. is currently accepting applications for a full-time Circulation Home Delivery Operations Manager. The position will be based out of our Everett office and will report to the Audience Development Director. The primary duty is to manage our home delivery distributors ensuring high-quality delivery, assuring efficient and profitable delivery routes, and overseeing day-to-day delivery challenges. This person will be a key contact for our distribution partners, ensuring that all their delivery needs are met on a timely basis.
In addition, you will be a conduit to our customer service team working through subscriber delivery challenges, managing operational schedules with Sound Press Operations and the press and transportation needs of our other newspaper delivery customers.
The assistant circulation operations manager reports to the circulation home delivery manager.
Candidate will:
- Work directly with customer service, subscribers, carrier distributors, other newspaper delivery agents and individual carriers as required.
- Manage newspaper delivery partnerships by meeting regularly to ensure that delivery, systems, and reporting are accurately meeting their delivery needs.
- Meet with distributorship dealers to review business practices and look for improved effectiveness and efficiency within their operation.
- Assist distributorships with carrier hiring practices, route efficiencies, and personnel effectiveness.
- Perform route management and oversee the timely and orderly pick up and distribution of The Daily Herald, our other delivery customers, and other Sound publications.
- Learn the methods and process to adjust draw and routing using Newzware software
- Must be flexible to work nights and weekends as needed.
- Learn key business metrics for The Daily Herald home delivery business and report underperforming areas to the audience development director.
- Must have a good background in single-copy sales to support and direct the assistant circulation operations manager in their duties
- Must be a pro-active individual who works well with partner newspaper staff, delivery services, dealer site staff, newspaper publisher partners, carrier contractors, and Sound employees.
Required Qualifications:
- Position requires the ability to operate a motor vehicle in a safe manner; to occasionally lift and/or transport bundles weighing up to 25 pounds from ground level to a height of 3 feet;
- To communicate with carriers and the public by telephone and in-person;
- To operate a personal computer, and possess a cellphone
- Must possess reliable, insured, a motor vehicle; and a clean and valid Washington State driver’s license.
