Facilities Maintenance/Janitor


Safran Ventilation Systems USA currently has an opening for a Facilities Maintenance/Janitor.
Primary Responsibility: The Facilities Maintenance/Janitor is a part time position working 24 hours a
week. Ideally, hours will be worked between normal business hours but must have the flexibility to work
evenings and weekends as needed. The expectation is that you will work to amaze people with how
clean and functional our facility is and take pride in your work.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The Facilities Maintenance/Janitor will be responsible for:


Janitorial:
• Remove garbage and recycling from garbage rooms, common areas, and offices.
• Clean and restock common bathrooms according to building standards.
• Clean common rooms, including reception and kitchen areas.
• Vacuum, dust, and clean common areas including floors, walls and furniture according to
schedule.
• Respond to emergency cleaning needs.
• Track inventory of supplies. Prepare supply orders.
• Prepare cleaning solutions according to manufacturers directions.
• Other duties as assigned and which assure clean and sanitary conditions.
• Buffing, scrubbing, stripping all types of floors
Assistance with Facilities Maintenance (as needed and directed by supervisor):
• Provide assistance as needed with general facility maintenance that may include: changing
light bulbs and fluorescent tubes as needed. Minor furniture repair and assembly, installation of
miscellaneous items (shelves, pictures, coat racks, etc.), and physical relocation of furniture and
equipment. Troubleshoot issues and communicate with the Supervisor.
• Make adjustments and minor repairs to heating, cooling, ventilating, plumbing, and electrical
systems.
Knowledge/Skills:
 Good communication skills.
 Attention to details.
 Must be able to read, understand and comply with all Safety Data Sheets (SDS) on all chemicals
used.
 Must be able to lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.
 Must have the ability to safely operate various machinery including but not limited to vacuum
cleaner and electric floor cleaner.
 Must have the ability to stand and/or walk for long periods of time and climb stairs
 Must have the ability to squat, bend and reach above shoulders.
 Team player with a strong work ethic and ability to interact with a variety of people and
personality types.

Work Environment:
The work environment is a warehouse setting which may require use of safety glasses and
hearing protection. Exposure to heat, cold, dust, dirt, noise, odors, fumes, etc. may also be
encountered when in the warehouse areas to varying degrees.
