Ranch Manager
The Willow Brook Metropolitan District (District) is seeking well-qualified applicants for a Ranch Manager position for the Ruby Ranch, located in Summit County, Colorado. The Ruby Ranch is a 500-acre ranch ideally located at the foot of the Gore range near the Town of Silverthorne, Colorado. The Ranch includes 54 lots, ranging from 2 ½ to 26 acres with most falling in the 4 to 5 acre category. There are currently 52 homes. The Ranch is a unique equestrian community and it maintains the rustic Ranch character of the original property as seen today in the fencing, road surfaces, hay and equestrian operations. The Ranch Manager will be responsible for managing Ranch infrastructure and security matters, as well as all aspects of road maintenance (both summer and winter). This position has a strong “hands on” component that will require the individual to appropriately prioritize and complete a wide variety of operational and managerial tasks simultaneously. The start date for this position is June 1, 2022. Some background in ranching is helpful. For example, meadow management including ditch maintenance and irrigation, leading to excellent annual hay crops. Experience with horses. Fence and stable maintenance and repair. In addition, background in road maintenance and repair is helpful. For example, ability to grade and plow roads. As this is a “hands-on” position, the applicant must be able and willing to serve in a variety of roles, including, but not limited to, physically performing work as well as these critical roles: Team Leader who is positive and upbeat with a “can do” attitude; ability to prioritize work assignments, manages the completion of them and assesses outcomes; physically completing handy-man type work; ability to effectively communicate with owners, board members, volunteers, contractors, and regulatory agencies; ability to meet the needs of owners and guests and display professionalism and commitment to Ruby Ranch. This position requires working in an outdoor environment with exposure to extreme weather, wet conditions, slippery and rough surfaces with exposure to dust and materials, moving objects and machinery, working alone and as a member of a crew. This position requires physically demanding work including frequent heavy lifting (over 45 pounds), walking, stooping, standing, bending, crawling, kneeling, grasping, carrying, and driving. Ranch operations may require variable schedules, early shifts, working week ends and holidays. Schedules may change from time to time to accommodate organizational needs and circumstances.
