Senior Accountant
We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant that will be responsible for company-wide asset accounting, as well as project accounting in our Rental Division. The successful candidate will have experience working with external auditors to act as one of the primary points of contact in fulfilling data requests and inquiries. You will also have experience in implementing and managing an inventory system. You will be responsible for training and mentoring junior members of the accounting department. Additional duties will be assigned by management, which could include assisting/backing-up other key accounting positions, the monthly closing process of financial statements, sales and rental commissions, and ad hoc reporting.

The Senior Accountant role can be located at either our corporate office in Chehalis, WA or our Seattle branch in Marysville, WA. It has been posted in both locations, but there is only one job opening.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Asset Accounting:
- Ensure fixed asset acquisitions and dispositions are recorded properly.
- Manage project costs (refurbishments) for fixed assets and close out (expense/capitalize) any necessary project.
- Review asset schedules to ensure dispositions are accurate.
- Reconcile fixed assets to the general ledger.
- Manage depreciation schedules.
- Maintain property insurance coverages for fixed assets.
- Evaluate the expenditures of the company for fixed assets in comparison to capital budget and management strategies.
- Provide utilization reports to management within corporate and throughout the branches.
- Maintain fixed asset records for multiple branches and business units.
- Help manage a future company-wide inventory system.
- Handle any audit schedules that pertain to any fixed assets and provide any information for external auditors.
- Support annual tax return preparation by providing fixed asset information and answers to tax professionals.
- Oversee asset title transfers.
Rental Division Sales/Project Accounting:
Within the Rental Division of Pacific Mobile Structures, the company offers new and used mobile office units for sale, which often include customizations and site preparation resulting in these sales being treated as jobs with progress billings tracked monthly through a WIP report.
- Provide support in preparing and issuing timely monthly consolidated and consolidating financial statements in accordance with GAAP for multiple business lines using multiple ERP systems.
- Manage the Rental Division project accounting and partner with Project Managers to track job profitability to budget, including original contract values, change requests and change orders from subcontractors, and retainage.
- Review monthly subcontractor pay applications and supporting documents, including applicable prelim and final lien releases and insurance-related documentation.
- Assist Project Managers/Coordinators to resolve any issues that arise throughout the project, including purchase orders, change orders, customer progress billing, etc.
- Prepare and administer routine correspondence and contract documentation to ensure timely and coordinated payment submittals.
- Responsible for ensuring that the schedule of values, certified payroll and lien releases are submitted with the billing application and invoice.
- Prepares, organizes, and maintains contract records and files documenting contract performance and compliance.
- Review contract set up and perform close-out activities.
- Prepare and enter direct job costs and accrual entries for allocations and costs based on percentage of completion.
- Ensure division compliance with corporate policies and procedures and owner/general contractor agreements. Meet the corporate reporting deadlines as outlined on company calendar.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
- This position requires the incumbent to have at least 7 years of accounting experience.
- High School diploma (or G.E.D.) required.
- College degree in Accounting or related field is preferred.
- CPA license is preferred.
- Dynamic AX / D365 and Sage 300 v17 experience preferred.
- This position requires good written, oral and reading communication skills in order for the incumbent to accurately obtain, interpret and transcribe a variety of communications and instructions.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office for Windows (Outlook, Word, and Excel) is required.
- This position requires excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to adjust and interact with all levels of personnel.
- Incumbent must be multitask oriented, organized, set priorities and meet deadlines and take pride in one’s work.
