The Mayor’s Office to End Domestic and Gender-Based Violence (ENDGBV) develops policies and programs, provides training and prevention education, conducts research and evaluations, performs community outreach and operates the NYC Family Justice Centers. These comprehensive service centers provide vital social service, civil legal and criminal justice assistance under one roof to survivors of domestic and gender-based violence. The office collaborates with City agencies and community stakeholders to ensure access to inclusive services for survivors of domestic and gender- based violence.
The Bronx Family Justice Center (BXFJC) offers coordinated services to survivors of domestic violence, sex trafficking and elder abuse in one location mainly through on-site personnel who work for partner organizations such as nonprofit organizations and other city agencies. The Deputy Director position reports to the Executive Director of the BXFJC.
The Mayor’s Office to End Domestic and Gender-Based Violence (ENDGBV) is recruiting for one (1) Administrative Director of Social Services, MI to serve as the Deputy Director, Bronx Family Justice Center (BXFJC), who will:
- Assist the Executive Director in managing the day-to-day operations of the BXFJC, while resolving issues in his/her absence.
- Manage the implementation of BXFJC operational policies and procedures, and work with onsite partners to modify procedures as needed, including assisting with the coordination and development of new policies and
- Support the work of the BXFJC administrative staff including the Director of Programs and Community Partnerships, Program Coordinator and Executive Assistant and offer supervisory support and assistance as needed to all co-located staff.
- Assist with the coordination of regular training series for all BXFJC staff and volunteers as well as staff from community-based organizations.
- Conduct or coordinate training to community members and service providers related to the topics of domestic violence, elder abuse and sex trafficking, and related
- Serve as secondary liaison with City and State agency partners, elected officials, Family, Criminal and Supreme Courts and community partners to the
- Serve as secondary liaison with City agency partners on building maintenance and security staff.
- Represent the BXFJC at coalition meetings, task forces and/or committees addressing domestic violence, elder abuse, and sex
- Coordinate, facilitate and attend BXFJC partner and discipline meetings.
- Assist with conducting outreach, educational and program activities regarding domestic violence and other related
- Assist in developing new partnerships and programs for the BXFJC.
- Assist in program evaluation and data collection at the BXFJC.

Minimum Qual Requirements
- A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university and four years of progressively responsible experience, in a large governmental agency, business firm, civic or community organization operating in the area of social services, including one year at the administrative or managerial level; or
- Education and/or experience equivalent to "1" above. Graduate education or a license may substitute for up to a maximum of three years of experience in the area of social services, but not for the one year of experience at the administrative or managerial level as described in "1" above, as follows:
- A master’s degree from an accredited college or university in accounting, business, child welfare, counseling, economics, education, finance, human resources, labor relations, management, management science, nursing, operations research, organizational behavior, personnel or public administration, political science, psychology, sociology, social work, statistics, and/or urban studies may substitute for two years of experience; and/or
- Graduate education beyond the baccalaureate degree may be substituted at the rate of 30 semester credits from an accredited college or university in the area(s) listed in “2(A)” above for each year of experience up to a maximum of three years; or
- A valid New York State Registration as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or Licensed Master of Social Work (LMSW) may substitute for three years of

Preferred Skills
- Extensive experience in the field of domestic violence
- D. or M.S.W. degree preferred.
- An understanding of the network of City and nonprofit service provision in New York City preferred.
- Managerial and supervisory experience.
- Strong organizational, communication, interpersonal and problem-solving
- Excellent time management ability including the ability to balance competing priorities, complex situations, and tight deadlines.
- Ability to work well in a diverse team environment with all levels of supervisory and frontline staff; and
- Comfort giving public
Salary Range: $58,700 - $161,534 (Annual)
