We are looking for a detail oriented professional with experience working with computers and with databases to apply for the position of Data Assistant. Successful candidates are willing to work in a dynamic, collaborative team environment and have a passion for making a difference in their community.
The Data Assistant is responsible for data management activities related to families enrolled in our Head Start, Early Head Start, and ECEAP programs. The Data Assistant performs initial record set up, ongoing data entry, and reporting in and from multiple databases. The Data Assistant works with the Edmonds Community College IT and marketing departments to update and post in our social media accounts. This position also provides backup tech support to department employees.
Specific tasks include, but are not limited to:

- Electronic data and records maintenance, including preparation and review of reports
- Maintain program website and social media
- Technology support (hardware, electronic equipment, and database software)

- Must be able to use a computer for written communication, data entry, spreadsheet applications, and report creation
- Must be able to respond to and initiate communication with program employees

Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Two years of experience in a same or similar position
- More than two years of experience in a same or similar position
- Experience with Head Start, ECEAP, and/or Early Head Start database software
Ability to report to work at scheduled times. Work is performed in an office setting. The ability to sit at a desk/computer station and perform detailed tasks involving repetitive arm and hand movements, such as data entry, is essential. Operation of standard office equipment such as a PC/terminal, electronic calculator, copy machine, and multi-line phone system is required. The ability to move over uneven surfaces and exhibit sensitivity when working with people from diverse backgrounds is essential. Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, are essential.
WORK SCHEDULE:
40 hours per week, Monday – Friday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm.
COMPENSATION
Salary range 34: Beginning salary is $2658 per month for 40 hours per week, with incremental increases to $3511 per month plus a full state benefits package, which includes tuition waivers for college classes, medical, dental, retirement options and more. Vacation and leave package includes 12 sick days per year, 9 scheduled holidays, 1 personal holiday, 2 personal leave days, and 13 vacation days per year (incremental increases to 24 vacation days per year).
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
Hiring for this position is on the condition that candidates meet the following requirements:
Before Starting Work:
- Submit paperwork indicating negative TB Test or clear chest x-ray within one year of hire date
- Show proof of Tdap booster vaccination
- Show proof of MMR (measles) vaccination
- Submit proof of a cleared Portable Background Check from the Washington State Department of Early Learning
- Submit proof of US Citizenship or ability to work in US (must show original social security or Alien Registration Card/Work Permit, as well as one piece of picture identification)
- Completion of all pertinent personnel/payroll forms
- Signed statement by a health provider that the employee is free from communicable diseases and physically able to perform job responsibilities.
- Successfully complete a nine-month probationary period
- Keep all certifications and clearances in current status
- Complete 15 hours of Professional Development Training each year
