Brief Description of Duties: Responsible for safety of swimmers in the pool. Enforces swimming pool regulations, safety rules are followed and account all participants at all times. Assist swimmers having difficulty, rescues those in trouble and renders first aid until such time a qualified doctor or other emergency personnel are present. Performs housekeeping tasks for proper standards of cleanliness, free from hazards, sanitation and appearance of pool and related facilities. Assists in pool chemistry maintenance with good knowledge of all aspects of water safety rules and procedures. Provide customer assistance and supplies information regarding the facility and its programs. May assist with scheduled pool parties, after hours of operation or with base wide special events. Schedule includes evenings and weekends.
Qualification Requirements: Incumbent must hold current certification in American Red Cross Lifeguard training or equivalent, CPR for the Professional Rescuer and First Aid. Incumbents without a valid Lifeguarding certification must enroll in the Lifeguarding course provided by Naval Station Everett Aquatics Center and obtain certification within 30 days of hire. Must be knowledgeable of emergency water safety procedures. Must pass annual swim test demonstrating ability to perform the work. Must be able to demonstrate effective verbal communication skills. Successful completion of a National Agency (NACI) background check required as condition of employment. Incumbent must be at least 16 years of age.
Information Technology Specialist - $22.00-$28.00 DOE Regular Full Time.
Marysville, WA. Problem solving/troubleshooting on computer and information technical support for Everett and Whidbey Bases.

Brief Description Of Duties: Experienced IT professional will provide technical assistance for the Manager of Information Systems and team in the implementation and support of various computer and information systems within Navy Region NW Fleet & Family Readiness Programs. This position is located at Marysville (Smokey Point) WA and is responsible to schedule and provide technical support for NAS Whidbey Island, NS Everett, Jim Creek recreation area and Smokey Point, including physical installations, assembly, configuration and maintenance of personal computers and network devices. An essential element of this classification is the provision of prompt and effective problem-solving and troubleshooting via a centralized Helpdesk when system failures or dysfunctions occur.
Qualification Requirements: Knowledge of computer systems, networks, monitoring and troubleshooting skills. Sound understanding of the pertinent characteristics of Windows operating systems and Cisco switching is required. Knowledge sufficient to assist in the configuration of associated systems and to advise and assist both management and staff on functional use is crucial. Knowledge of intermediate troubleshooting techniques and excellent customer service skills required to sufficiently provide high-quality customer service support. Knowledge of Point of Sale Systems, Access Control, Digital Displays, Monitoring, Imaging processes, Cisco devices, and scripting are highly desirable. A degree in computer science or completion of a certificate program that is equivalent to the major course work for a degree in computer science is preferred. Security Plus and a relevant Technical Certification are required, if the applicant does not possess at hire they must be able to acquire within 6 months. One (1) year experience in the position of Information Technology Specialist or in a position performing the equivalent full-time duties. Knowledge of principles and practices of effective communication. Ability to self-manage, communicate clearly and concisely with others, orally and in writing; follow instructions both orally and in writing. Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to operate and manage assigned government vehicle.

Recreation Assistant (2 Open) - $16.42-$21.74 per hour

This position supports recreational, administrative and reservation needs of the outdoor program of Jim Creek Recreation Center. Employee privileges include access to base facilities such as gyms, recreation centers, restaurants, and discount tickets to sporting and entertainment events.
Brief Description of Duties: Incumbent will perform a variety of duties connected with providing accommodations for guests at Jim Creek which is a regional outdoor recreation area providing lodging, cabins, campsites, picnicking and related activities. Serves as a collection agent who collects fees from customers associated with retail, rental items, classes and various other programs. Checks in and out equipment and inspects equipment upon return. Report any damages on equipment, requisition merchandise, ensures adequate stock levels to Supervisor. Answers telephones, provides information and tours of facilities, and processes reservations. Prepare mess items or snack bar menu items or pre-packaged retail items, ordering supplies, opening and closing of facility, checking badges for authorized users of recreation facilities and equipment. Assists in the planning, coordinating, publicizing, marketing and execution of MWR entertainment programs and special events. Assists in administering traditional and non-traditional workshops, clinics and events in a variety of outdoor skills areas including but not limited to camping, cycling, sailing, backpacking, canoeing, snow skiing, hiking or water sports. Ensures safety and sanitation practices of OSHA/BUMED directive. Performs other duties as assigned. Includes working at Naval Station Everett MWR Community Recreation.
Qualification Requirements: Two year experience in related recreation field or Associates Degree in related field. Must possess knowledge of recreation facilities, equipment and programs. Incumbent is C.A.R.E trained, holds an Emergency First Responder (EFR) or CPR First Aid certification and holds a current Food Handler certification; if not held upon recruitment, will be obtained within 90 days of employment. Strong customer service principles and techniques. Ability to maintain records, communicate in writing and verbally. Knowledge of computers, office procedures and written instructions. Cash handling skills.
Custodial Worker - $18.16 per hour

This position is located at the Navy Getaways Jim Creek Recreation Facility in Arlington, Wash., approximately 40 minutes northeast of Naval Station Everett. Employee privileges include access to base facilities such as gyms, recreation centers, restaurants, and discount tickets to sporting and entertainment events.
Brief Description of Duties: Performs variety of janitorial/custodial duties to maintain a clean, safe buildings, cabins, rooms and grounds. Duties such as vacuuming rugs and draperies; shampoos rugs and upholsters; sweeps, mops, strips, scrubs, waxes and polishes floors using light to heavy industrial-type equipment. Dusts, waxes and polishes office furniture, dusts ledges and woodwork; empties cigarette disposal cans and waste baskets, disposing of trash and recycling waste appropriately. Cleans glass partitions, inside and outside windows, walls and ceiling fixtures using ladders and scaffolds. Maybe required to move and set up tables, chairs and other equipment as required for events. Maintains restrooms in clean and sanitary condition including disinfects and deodorizes lavatories, sinks and toilet bowls, replaces deodorizers, toilet tissue and soap. Cleans mirrors and water fountains and performs light maintenance such as changing light bulbs. Occasional tasks are application of ice control material, shoveling snow, light mowing and watering lawns around the assigned building. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualification Requirements: Knowledge and skill sufficient to read signs and follow oral and written instructions. Ability to work safely while moving lightweight objects, Must be able to operate and use janitorial tools, equipment, and supplies such as floor buffers, vacuum cleaners, cleaning compounds and solutions and perform minor maintenance on equipment. Ability to satisfactorily complete background checks to include a National Agency Check with Written Inquiries (NACI).
Conditions of Employment: Exerts moderately heavy physical effort in controlling heavy equipment, carrying and setting up and working from ladders and scaffolds. Constantly standing or walking; frequently lifting or moving objects from 30 to 50 pounds. Work areas maybe uncomfortable, warm and noisy; exposed to minor bruises, also danger of slipping on wet floors. Must be able to work nights, weekends & holidays.
