Assistant to the Town Manager
The Town of Duck, North Carolina, is seeking a unique and talented individual with a desire to create or continue a career in public service for the position of Assistant to the Town Manager. Duck is coastal community located on the Outer Banks of North Carolina with a full-time population of 500 that serves up to 25,000 during its peak summer season. The Town embraces complex and difficult projects and is proud of its reputation as a desirable and progressive community in which to live and visit. Generally, the Assistant to the Town Manager position is an integral part of the Town Manager’s management team and will be assigned administrative tasks, technical analyses of the budget, management, and operational functions and strategies, and special projects in support of the Town Manager. More specifically, the position is designed to expose the successful applicant to all areas of Town management and service delivery with the goal of increasing the Town’s capacity to research, recommend and provide oversight of programs and services while at the same time developing a path for succession planning. Minimum qualifications are a Bachelor’s degree in business, public administration or related field and progressive work experience in a business or government environment. A Master’s Degree in Business, Public Administration or a related field is preferred.
