Job Summary/Basic Function:
Everett Community College has an opening for a tenure-track faculty member in the Business and Business Technology division teaching in the Accounting series and will report to the division Dean. The primary responsibility of this position is to provide exceptional teaching of accounting courses in the Business, Aviation, and Applied Technology Division.
While teaching courses across the department, leadership is expected in courses leading to industry certification and expertise in fiscal technician/bookkeeping skills, tax preparation, small business applications, banking, finance, and other professional/technical fields within accounting that do not require a baccalaureate level of preparation.
This position will primarily teach Accounting courses as they relate to the college's Accounting two-year technical and transfer degrees. Examples of classes taught may include:
ACCT& 201, Principles of Accounting I, ACCT& 202, Principles of Accounting II, ACCT& 203, Principles of Accounting III, Small Business Accounting, and Business Taxation. Other classes may include general business courses. Courses are delivered in face-to-face, hybrid, and online formats utilizing Canvas as the Learning Management System. This position also requires actively participating in student academic advising.
All tenured faculty members are responsible for course content delivery to meet student learning objectives and program outcomes and to evaluate student abilities related to the skills within the program. The faculty participate in the development of program curriculum and activities; advise students and mentor part-time faculty; meet accreditation requirements; maintain current knowledge and skills in areas of assignment; engage in professional development and/or certification activities; participate in governance, decision making, and activities for the program, division, and college; cultivate a positive, supportive learning environment in which diversity and pluralism are valued. Faculty positions support the work in accordance with all college policies and in accordance with the faculty bargained agreement.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Masters in Business Administration (MBA) or closely related graduate degree from an accredited institution, or professional certification in related field, such as Certified Public Accountant (CPA), CGMA (Chartered Global Management Accountant), CMA (Certified Managerial Accountant) or closely related certification.
- A minimum of one year demonstrated teaching or training experience in K-12, higher education, corporate or other formal adult learning environments.
- Demonstrated experience, and/or classroom strategies for effectively instructing students across the range of diversity to include: cultures, ethnicity, age, gender, sexual orientation, ability, class and religion through response to the diversity, equity, and inclusion supplemental question.
- Commitment to student access, persistence, and success.
- A philosophy of education appropriate to adult learners at a community college.
- Commitment to grow and change along with involvement in professional and campus activities.
Preferred Qualifications:
? Professional experience in private enterprise, general management, marketing, human resources, sales, accounting, finance, non-profit organizations, government, entrepreneurship or related areas.
? Experience with advising of students for degree and career success.
? Commitment to a culture of continuous improvement in both learning and the profession of teaching.
? Previous experience with online teaching and student advising/learning platforms such as Canvas, Starfish, or other similar student advising/learning platforms.
? Applicants must be able to document full time equivalent experience in accounting-related practice beyond the training period.
? Experience with MS Office Suite, Quickbooks, Tax preparation tools, or closely related software platforms experience is a requirement for some classes (current versions).
