The Systems Administrator is responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting server, network and end-user systems and applications. Successful candidates for this role will have at least three of years of administrating both Windows and Linux systems, applications and environments as well as at least two years of administrating Public Cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP, etc). They will be quick to learn, willing to help out within the team and across other teams, be flexible and willing to see projects through to completion.
Essential Function
- Maintain and troubleshoot server and network systems, including off-hours support
- Provide technical support to customers for server provided services
- Monitor the server & network environment, including, but not limited to, availability, threshold alarms, backups, security advisories, and take actions as necessary
- Install, configure and test hardware and software server products, as necessary to provide services to internal and external customers
- Follow applicable processes and policies surrounding systems management; including change control, documented procedures, knowledge base entries, standards/specifications, etc.
- Generate technical documentation for use by other technical staff using the Microsoft Office suite of tools (Word, Excel, Visio, Project, etc.)
- Maintain OS versions on existing devices
- Troubleshoot connectivity issues related to the LAN/WAN
- Deploy, support, and troubleshoot Telecommuters
- Upgrade network & server environment hardware and software, including working with users for a smooth transition
- Provide input on technical solutions for customer products, issues, or problems
- Work with other staff in project teams
- Recommend to management ways in which the desktop/laptop and server services environment could be improved
- On an as needed basis provide project management support for data center infrastructure projects
- Other duties as assigned
Required Skills
- Bachelor’s degree with a technical major; such as, Engineering or Computer Science or equivalent work experience
- Minimum of three years of experience working as a System Administrator and/or Network Administrator in the appropriate area of expertise (Windows, Linux or Network)
- Must have knowledge in the following network technical areas: Cisco routing, switch administration, firewall administration
- Must have extensive knowledge in at least three of the following server technical areas: Public Cloud (AWS, Azure, GCP), Citrix Servers, Active Directory, Microsoft Internet Information Services, Apache/Nginx Administration, Storage Management, Exchange Server, VMware ESX, Enterprise Backup/Restore, Linux Administration, Linux Scripting, Altiris (or other alternative patch, software and compliance applications)
- Experience with Firewall, DMZ, and VPN design and management
- Experience with Load Balancers and/or Traffic Managers
- Proficient skills with MS Office applications; such as, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Visio, Access, and Project
- Project operations/management experience
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work well with others

- Must have flexibility in work schedule in order to provide off-hours support
