Maintenance Worker
This position is responsible for assisting the Maintenance Manager with the proper maintenance of equipment throughout the facility. Troubleshooting equipment and facility issues that arise. Conducting routine inspections of premises and equipment. Performing preventative maintenance. Overseeing contractors when professional repairs are necessary. Handling basic repairs and maintenance. Diagnosing mechanical issues and correcting them.
This position is not limited to the above description as other responsibilities may include tasks, projects, or plans given by Management.
Starting Pay: $22-25 per hour
Monday - Friday
2nd Shift 1:00pm - 9:30pm

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Complete and update preventative maintenance tasks.
- Fabricate new equipment, as necessary.
- Repair broken equipment promptly to ensure a smooth-running facility.
- Maintain boiler feed water chemical balance and boiler blowdowns.
- Oversee contractors on site when professional repairs are needed.
SECONDARY RESPONSIBLITIES
- Maintain, service, clean and safely store equipment.
- Perform minor repairs as requested.
- Test the functionality of the facility’s safety systems.
- Report to facilities or maintenance manager regarding issues resolved, those needing attention, and those currently in progress.
WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- Must understand basic electricity.
- Must have basic knowledge of plumbing, fabricating, welding, and troubleshooting of equipment breakdowns.
- Must have prior experience performing routine maintenance.
- Must have prior experience using hand and power tools
SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Must be able to identify and troubleshoot any equipment mechanical failure.
- Must have problem analysis and decision-making skills.
- Must have strong organizational, communication, and follow-up skills.
- Must work well within a team environment, as well as, independently.
- Must have strong time management skills and be able to complete projects promptly.
- Must have the ability to take apart machines, equipment, or devices to remove and replace defective parts.
TRAINING / LICENSING / CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
- Trained in GMP’s applicable Food Safety programs & procedures.
- Basic knowledge in electrical, welding, plumbing and trouble shooting.
WORK TASK REQUIREMENTS (SAFETY REQUIREMENTS)
- Ability to lift 50lbs.
- Proper lock out systems for electrical.
- Safely using proper tools for the job.
- Using eye protection for welding, grinding, and cutting.
- Using gloves for all jobs.
