Structural Drafter/Designer
BRPH’s Corporate office in Lynnwood, Washington is looking for an experienced Structural Designer. The individual will utilize REVIT to create 3D models and produce detailed design drawings for domestic and international projects. Our design drawings include plans, details, schedules, notes, isometrics, elevations, and sections used in preliminary, schematic, design development, construction and record documents.
Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Reviews rough sketches, drawings, specifications and other engineering data received from engineers and architects.
- Develop column grids and primary structural layouts with minimal assistance from engineers and architects.
- Develop building sections and elevations with minimal assistance from engineers and architects.
- Develop final drawings from verbal instruction, rough sketches, marked up drawings, design computations, engineering fundamentals and the BRPH detail library.
- Assists in client contact and communication pertaining to specific projects.
- Attend team meetings with clients.
- Assists in the preparation of reports, specifications, plans, construction schedules, cost estimates and permits for projects.
- Maintains advanced skills in the use of REVIT, AutoCAD, and Navisworks
- Coordinate structural models and drawings with the architects and other engineering discipline’s models and drawings.
- Able to visualize and depict information between two and three dimensions.
- Understands and applies REVIT, AutoCAD, graphics and discipline terminology.
- Promotes communications, cooperation and quality among discipline and team members.
- Assists engineers in document checking and quality control procedures.
- Assists engineers in making observations, measurements, images and records of conditions at existing facilities and/or buildings in various stages of construction.
- Assists in general office activities such as maintenance of discipline library, reproduction activities, deliveries and discipline housekeeping.
- Proofs own work with 98% accuracy prior to checking.
- Responsible for job specific standards, practices and quality as defined in BRPH Policies & Procedures and CAD Standards.
Qualifications
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
- The minimum level of education shall be a high school diploma (or GED test credential) with 2 years of drafting courses utilizing AutoCAD and/or REVIT
- Certification in Computer Assisted Drafting from an accredited technology, vocational or junior college.
- A related BS degree from an accredited college or university can replace the above education and reduce the experience requirement to 4 years as a drafter/designer.
- The individual shall possess an aptitude for graphics with a working knowledge of REVIT, AutoCAD, Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel and Adobe Acrobat.
- Must be authorized to work in the US without authorization
