Commercial Fire Alarm and Security Designer

B&C Fire Safety has immediate opening for a Commercial Fire Alarm and Security Designer.
The ideal candidate for this position will have working knowledge of NFPA Standards and local building codes. Candidate must also be able to properly utilize CAD design software programs. NICET Certification is preferred but not required. Minimum of five years Fire Alarm and Security Designer experience is required.
Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Collaborate with sales/estimating team to develop bid opportunities. Able to interpret project documents and specifications. Prepare Submittal drawings using CAD systems. Communicate with all AHJs and local code officials to ensure compliance. Involvement in layout for bidding purposes. Ensure that designs adhere to customer specifications. Present designs and reports to management and/or customers for approval. Coordination with general contractors, architects, and subcontractors to ensure smooth transition in all facets of project. Attend job site meetings as needed. Develop project turnover meetings to transfer design to Lead Estimator. Assist in project close-out requirements. Ability to work with multiple functions and teams. Use established business processes and software to achieve and track progress and results. Able to successfully, and independently, plot/scan/print designs. Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office
B&C Fire Safety requirements include: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and react to changing business needs. Work independently while also being a successful team player. Organized, self-starter with a strong attention to detail. Strong communication, time management and decision-making skills. High school diploma or equivalent. Must have reliable transportation and a valid driver's license. Able to pass a background check including a drug screen is mandatory.
