The Alderwood Water & Wastewater District (AWWD) is accepting applications to fill multiple Utility Worker vacancies. Successful candidates will be appointed to one of three classification levels (I, II, or Sr.) dependent on their qualifications. Utility Workers maintain and operate the District’s water distribution system, sewage collection system, plants, and reservoirs. Essential duties include installing, servicing, and repairing water and sewer facilities; repairing water and sewer line leaks; flushing water systems; repairing curbs and sidewalks; installing valves and setting meters; and responding professionally and courteously to customer inquiries.
A valid Washington State Driver’s license and acceptable driving record is required for all three classification levels. This position is represented by WCCCE, Local No. 1811A, AFSCME, AFL-CIO. The hourly rate for this position is $22.49-$30.14 per hour, dependent upon experience and qualifications.
